about cenflo publications

Cenflo Publications celebrated its 60th anniversary in July 2007. Our original publication, Flower News, actually traces back to 1947 when five wholesale florists and a seedsman founded the weekly trade newspaper, then called Central Flower News. The name of the publication was changed to Flower News in 1962.

The wholesalers, Amling Co., Chicago Flower Growers, Joseph Foerster Co., Eric Johnson, Inc., and A.T. Pyfer; and the seedsman, Alex Henderson, Inc., were a combination of founders, stockholders and advertisers.

Flower News actually started as a weekly, except during the months of July and August, when publication was suspended. It continued that frequency until 2004 when a new twice-monthly schedule was adopted.

Over the past half-Century, a number of publications were added. The present lineup consists of Flower News; Flora Magazine, a floral design publication; The Flower Book, an annual resource book; Nursery News, a monthly landscape and nursery trade newspaper; and The Nursery Book, an annual resource book for nurserymen and landscapers.

The company’s main office relocated from Chicago, Illinois to Rio Rancho, New Mexico in November 2004.

As the world changes, Cenflo will continue to offer the horticulture industry updated news and information via print and the World Wide Web.
